Religon

Growing up I went to Hebrew school like most Jewish kids in my neighborhood. I remember complaining about having to go. Just like my little sisters complain. Spending 6 hours in regular school and then going of to 2 hours of Hebrew 3 times a week was not very fun. The only thing I remember about Hebrew school was learning Hebrew. I do not remember anyone teaching us about the Torah or the religion in general. I really think that Hebrew schools need to re-make their lesson plans and teach both Hebrew and the religion. Now as a young adult I have so many questions about the religion, but no Rabbi or Bible study group to go to. I am somewhat envious of my Christian friend who have hundreds of churches to choose from here in Southern Illinois. Not only do they have all these churches to go to, they also have bible study groups. Tons of them! Everyday of the week it seems and what ever time suites you. I sometimes find myself wanting to go to these groups but then I realize that they focus on the Second Testament. I really hope to find a Synagogue that has a bible study group. I really want to learn about the Torah, Tallmud, Tunach, and the Siddur.

I love talking religion to people of other religions and sects. But, when I discuss something I want to know what I am talking about. When people of other faiths ask me about Judaism and I can not give them an answer and it saddens me because they usually know so much about their religion.

So, in conclusion, I hope that the Army will send me to a place that has a synagogue with a bible study group so i can learn more about the religion I care about so much.

So random

Well, where to start.....I currently am 29 class days away from graduating, 115 days away from Commissioning, 7 months away from getting married, and 9 months away from starting my Active duty Army career. I am really excited to start being a grown up. But I am also scared because I will not be making any money from May until October and the lease on our APT it up on July 31 so Mike and I have a lot of talking to do to figure out where we will live for 2 months. Luckily we have each other. An option may be to just travel around. But we will see luckily we have 4 ish months to figure it out.
The next big issue is our wedding. We have it narrowed down to two different Sundays in Aug, but there is nothing set yet. We are so thankful to my Dad and Step mom for paying and helping us plan. It is hard because we are 6 hours away from where we will be getting married, so my folks have to do a lot of the planning. I know it is going to be a big pain in the ass for them. But if they think about it. They really only have 7 more months of taking care of me (giving me money, etc) after that they can kick me out, and I'll be on my way. Not that they would..or would they....haha, no they wouldn't. Anyway I am really hoping to get a venue locked in really soon, but we will see.
I can not wait for march, that is when I find out where I will be living for the next 3-4 years. I really really hope VA. Fingers crossed.
I promise to write more, for I am only taking classes on T/TH so I have a lot of free time.

Together forever,
forever together.
